	Prefects Carriage On the way to Hogwarts, prefects gather in the front 2 compartments, located at the engine end of the train, to receive instructionsfrom the Head Boy and Girl. Hogwarts Express

Scarlet-coloured steam train that departs from Platform 9 3/4 every 1st September at 11 o'clock in the morning. During the journey, students change from their muggle clothes into their wizarding robes. Hagrid traditionally supervises the students as they get off at Hogsmeade station. He leads the 1st years across the lakein boats, while upper students take carriages to the castle. Luggage is left on the train and is taken to Hogwarts seperetly. The Hogwarts Express takes students back to Kings Cross at the end of each year, as well as during Christmas and Easter holidays.
